I have always argued hard that the two are very closely related, with pricing options and profitability significantly freed up by increased demand as a result of effective marketing…
To meet the need for more information and detailed discussion with your peers I have decided to provide a series of seminars addressing The BigTwo in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in February 2016…
Practical Pricing and Billing… increased sophistication is becoming an absolute must for reasonable genuine profit generation.
Clients are all different, and may have many different types of matters. Increased awareness of their real needs and attitudes to value is essential for developing the right pricing responses.
Of course we no longer have the security of Scales in almost all situations, but we should not bemoan that reality because there are multiple opportunities presented for bespoke pricing solutions tailored to individual clients and matters. We can’t afford laziness and short-cuts in pricing.
There is scope for dynamic pricing in the new lawyer-client environment, but the obligation to charge fees that are fair and reasonable (and even proportionate) remains. Dynamic pricing does not mean gouging, and pricing flexibility does not mean discounts that leave no profit.
Marketing has not historically been a strength of many lawyers. Many have tended to treat it with suspicion, potentially a black hole into which they pour money without clear evidence of return. Before the Internet, were firms allocating the right time, money and analytic resources into Common Sense marketing?
Now the Internet has created a whole new world of opportunities. Are firms properly organising to take full advantage…sensibly combining the very new Business Development techniques with what should have been recognised as the tried and true methods. What’s really happening, and what are the traps for all players? Where are the main failures occurring?
The February 2016 “The BigTwo” KMS seminar series in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane will see Rob Knowsley leading discussion with small groups of lawyers and law office managers on how to get pricing right in a more and more sophisticated environment, and how to drive more of the right sort of client enquiry to your door, phone or screen…
Experience across more than thirty years has shown Rob that over twenty participants actually restricts discussion, so that the benefits of a having a good cross-section of attendees are lost. Registration of a maximum of twenty will be on a first in-best dressed basis.
Firms will be restricted to having a maximum of three attend to ensure that good cross-section of attendees.
